Science programs, lab experiments, investigations, and projects! These are just a few of the ways that Memphis Science Partners (MSP) is bringing science alive to students in the Memphis community. Cultivating a love of scientific inquiry and discovery is the guiding focus of the MSP program. Memphis Science Partners is part of the Office of Medical Education at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) College of Medicine. This program has been formed to encourage students in the Memphis City Schools surrounding the UTHSC campus to pursue advanced studies in biomedical and behavioral sciences. Additionally, MSP hopes to provide students with a working knowledge of healthy behaviors. Memphis Science Partners is a Minority K-12 Initiative for Teachers and Students (MKITS) funded by the National Heart, Blood, and Lung Institute (NHBLI), a component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov. |
